Losers of the Year's Music:

Losers of the Year has written and recorded two full length albums and are currently writing songs for their third. Due to a genuine interest in their craft, the band takes a very hands on approach to recording with both albums being written, performed, recorded and produced by the band members themselves.

Lameocracy (2008)

Losers of the Year's second album is entitled Lameocracy. Aside from being a tribute to the members (and long time friends) of the now defunct band 'Stupid Like You' the title also reflects the tone and character of bands latest album.

Part political commentary, part inspired by the lives and events surrounding the band at a crucial time in their career. The album reflects LOTY's coming of age as musicians and song writers. It also represents a giant leap forward from the bands pervious album in every regard.

Recorded in a studio built by the band members from the ground up 'Lameocracy' is a polished, well executed realization of an album that balances the personal with the political.

Losers of the Year (2005)

Losers of the Year's first album was self-titled and featured 12 original songs. This entire album was recorded in the bands living room in December 2004. The mics were set, the record button was pressed and the band played their entire album of work in the same manner they would on stage at a concert.

The result is a very raw, bare bones product with a sound and tone that can only be achieved through such humble means. The album acts as a snapshot, a moment in the bands early days and helped start the band on its journey. Many of the songs on this album have since evolved into full scale hits and are a staple of LOTY's live shows.

Despite its simplicity and low-fi mediocrity, buried deep within the core of this album is the unmistakable potential the band possessed even back then. For those who listened it served as a sneak peak at what's to come.

The Future:

With 'Lameocracy' finished the band turns now to the future, and begins the process of writing their third and sure to be greatest album. The sales from 'Lameocracy' will fund the production of this new work of art just as the success of our first album helped fund the production of 'Lameocracy.' And so will go the cycle.
